Supply of our 250 class Flat Top Deck Cargo Barge “GLOBO 2502” for Jetty construction work at Dahej, Gujarat
A commercial port and storage terminal located at Dahej, Gujarat in the Gulf of Khambhat (Cambay) on the West coast of India, owns and operates a network of shore based tank farm installations for the receipt and handling of bulk liquids. It provides tank terminal services to customers enabling them to focus on their core activities. The Port is a Public and Private sector joint ownership.
The said Port intends to double its handling capacity from the present 6 Million Metric Tons to 12 Million Metric Tons. This expansion necessitated the construction of a New Piled Jetty. The construction of this Jetty was awarded to our client, a globally renownedconstruction and engineering company that is involved in the construction of infrastructure projects in India and abroadand specializes in Marine Construction, especially Jetties.
For the construction of this Jetty, we supplied our Flat Top Deck Cargo Barge “GLOBO 2502”. The Barge is being used for receiving Piles from the Mother Vessel at the Dahej Anchorage. It then goes alongside the Jack up Barge, which lifts the Piles off the Barge deck and installs it in the sea. As a part of this project, a total of 166 Piles will be used. Each of these massive piles measures 74 meters in length with a diameter of 1.5 meters and weigh approx. 100MT each. Our Barge will be receiving multiple shipment of Piles and will be at site throughout till all Piles are installed.
For this project the Barge was inspected and approved by the one of the most reputed Marine Warranty Surveyor of the country. We are glad that the Barge is performing to our Client’s complete satisfaction.
