GloboTrans Pro completes the Tow of a Massive Mobile Offshore Drilling Vessel from Mumbai Offshore to Trincomalee Anchorage in Sri Lanka 

Our Client, a reputed Indian Oil and Gas Drilling Company, specializes in field of Exploratory and Drilling Services. They approached us for towing one of their Mobile Offshore Drilling Vessels measuring nearly 550 feet in length, 70 feet in width, 45 feet depth with a Towing draft of nearly 26 feet, from Mumbai Offshore to Trincomalee Anchorage on the North East Coast of Sri Lanka. Since it was a single Tug Tow, the required Bollard Pull of the Tow Tug for this critical transport was in excess of 120 MT.

As per the requirement of this tow, we mobilized a 155MT Bollard Pull Tug to Mumbai outer anchorage and towed the huge Mobile Offshore Drilling Vessel from PLA Area at Mumbai anchorage to Trincomalee Anchorage. This tow of approx. 1200 N.m., spanning Arabian and Laccadive Sea, was completed safely by us in 15 days, as per the Client’s given timelines.
