Supply of our 250 Class Flat Top Deck Cargo Barge for supporting Pipe laying operations at Mumbai Offshore Basin for ONGC’s C8MFP Project

Our client, who is a leading EPC in Oil & Gas Sector in India, is executing a Project that involves development of Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Ltd. (ONGC)’s Cluster 8 Marginal fields for production of well fluid in the BH-DCS block of Mumbai offshore Basin to the south-west of Mumbai High field. This project includes laying pipes using their pipe laying Barge, besides other activities. For this operation, they needed a Ballastable 250 Class Flat Top Deck Cargo Barge with a deck capacity of 15 Tons / sq. m. for transporting Coated Steel Pipes from Mundra Port to the designated location in Offshore.

As part of our endeavour to provide Marine Logistics solutions to our Clients, we supplied our 250 Class Barge “GLOBO 2501” for this Project. Classed under Indian Register of Shipping (IRS), this Barge with a DWT of 5800MT, has all 27 Tanks designated as Ballastable by Class. The Barge complies with the strict Oil & Gas standards and will play a critical role in this Pipe laying Project.

The Barge was mobilized by us to P&V Channel, as per Client’s schedule in November and has done multiple trips since then carrying between 4200MT to 4500MT Pipes per trip from Mundra Port to Offshore. We hope that this Barge helps our Client in completing their Pipe laying target for this season.
